“Drama is very important in life: You should always come on with a bang. You should never go out with a whimper. Everything can have drama if it’s done right. Even a pancake.” — Julia Child
Dramatic Pancake was born out of a love of food, cooking, and people. The title was inspired by Julia Child—that iconic, spunky lady who could flip a pancake from ordinary to extraordinary. Neither her life nor her food was ever bland, but I know she’s not the only one with a story to tell or a dish to savor.
bring something to the table
Every home cook has at least one outstanding, tried-and-true recipe that he or she returns to again and again. If it’s worth making on a regular basis, it’s probably worth sharing—and at Dramatic Pancake, that’s the idea! By interviewing people in their own homes, cooking alongside them, and photographing their creations, I hope to share with you a delicious and eclectic group of recipes you can count on.

About Kathryn
I’m a food fanatic, photographer, and writer living in Chicago, IL. I love getting my hands dirty in the kitchen, and my favorite recipes are wholesome with a little edge—good for you, but not too virtuous. I’m a sucker for dressed-up, healthified comfort food, and my favorite meal, hands-down, is breakfast. I’m happy you’re here.
